Located in Rivoli, in a mall which has taken the place of an industrial building where cars were repaired and sold, the restaurant called Il Concessionario (The car dealer) makes history live again in this architectural project. The name chosen by the proprietor identifies that very specific place that is strongly rooted in the memory of the local community. The project relied on the collective imagination accompanying the world of cars and powerfully reevoked the past. In its current arrangement, it brings to mind a long gone past, the legendary ‘70s. The colours in use are functional to the narrative and revive colours that cars sported back then. Some “iconic” objects were installed, such as the vintage petrol pump which makes a great impression in its glass showcase standing on an illuminated platform, graphic designs reproducing men, cars, races, roads and landscapes, all in memory of the old out-of-town trips. The legendary actor and pilot Steve Mc Queen lives again in the suggestions of the images.
All the rooms, their sizes and the used materials were planned paying special attention to the acoustics.

Il Concessionario

A Rivoli, in un centro commerciale che sorge dove un tempo vi era un edificio industriale per la vendita e riparazione delle automobili, “rivive” Il Concessionario nel progetto di un nuovo ristorante. Il nome dato dalla proprietà identifica quel luogo della memoria fortemente radicato nella comunità locale. Il progetto dà vita a un immaginario legato al mondo delle automobili rievocando quel passato: racconta un tempo ormai leggendario, quello degli Anni Settanta. Funzionali alla narrazione sono i colori utilizzati, che riprendono quelli delle automobili, l’uso di oggetti “iconici”, come una pompa di benzina dell’epoca posta in una teca su pedana luminosa, le grafiche con uomini, automobili, corse, strade e paesaggi “memoria delle gite fuori porta”. Steve Mc Queen, attore e pilota, appartiene al mito e rivive nelle suggestioni delle immagini.
Gli spazi sono stati progettati, nel dimensionamento e nei materiali impiegati, con grande attenzione all’acustica.
